Delivery
Delivery refers to the process of assisting a woman in giving birth to her baby. This service is provided by gynecologists and obstetricians, who specialize in managing pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Deliveries are a critical part of maternal healthcare and involve both medical expertise and compassionate support.
Types of Delivery:
- Normal Vaginal Delivery (NVD):
The baby is born through the birth canal without surgical intervention. It is the most natural and common form of childbirth.
- Caeserean Section (C-Section):
A surgical procedure in which the baby is delivered through an incision in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. Often performed when vaginal delivery poses risks to the mother or baby (e.g., breech position, fetal distress, or prolonged labor).
- Assisted Vaginal Delivery:
Tools like forceps or a vacuum device are used to help deliver the baby. Commonly used when labor is prolonged or complications arise during vaginal delivery.
- Painless Delivery:
Epidural anesthesia is administered to reduce labor pain while allowing the mother to stay awake and alert during delivery.
Delivery is a transformative experience, and a gynecologist’s expertise ensures the process is safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible for both mother and baby.
